It is a long time that Parseh or Takht-e Jamshid , which is called Parsian ( Persepolis ) by westerns , is known as one of the architectural masterpieces of ancient world and the countless group of enthusiasts of history , geography and archeology as well as the lovers of art and architecture have seen this masterpiece personally or be familiar with it through books , films , slides and photos and loved it so much . The construction of Persepolis , this most brilliant architecture work , was commenced in 518(BC) by Darius , the first , and lasted to about 330 BC at the time of Darius , the third . The area of this architecture work is about 125000sq/m .

All embossments of Persepolis were painted first and the signs of paint are still seen on some of them . Persepolis complex includes castles , administrative-services buildings , barriers , water supply and tombs of two kings , etc … and now after the laps of 2500 years , this stone structure is still an honor and glory for Iran and Iranians .

The suggestion for constructing Apadana hotel was firstly made about 1947 by institute of Persepolis under the supervision of the late Ali Sami .

Apadana Hotel is a building belonging to the second Pahlavi era which is located 50km.away from Marvdasht city , Fars province and 100m.away from the high building of Persepolis . Based on archeological studies , this building has been situated on a bed under which was Parseh old city with such an ancient age .

Based on the available documents , the date of construction of this guest house is 1953 and it has been put into use after two years . In 1979, four years after it has been put into use , for different reasons , ministry of art and culture of the time decided to take the possession of the hotel , make it private and change it into a base for service to archeological research boards .

In 1970 when the preliminaries for holding 2500-year festival was being provided and since then till 1973 , this hotel has been put under the control of engineers and designers of monarchic tents . After 1973 and by the formation of canon of Achamenian research , this hotel has been put under the control of canon .

After victory of Islamic Revolution , Apadana Hotel was deserted and useless for a while and then by the formation of cultural heritage organization , this building has been taken under the possession of the organization and maintained it administrative and service role except for a short time before its closing in the 70^th decade that it has become as a service place for public again . Since 2001 , the reconstruction of hotel as it is seen today was commenced and the plan of Apadana Hotel as a one-storey dwelling place with 21 rooms and a big restaurant was made . This building has been situated in the middle of an orchard with an area of 3000sq/m which provides a desirable environment for visitors in the dry area of the surrounding .

The stones used in the hotel yard have been taken from Rahmat Mountain which is the main source of construction of pillars and embossments of Persepolis. Among other important elements in the area we can mention the swimming pool in front of the guest house which had been given to archeological boards for their welfare services before . In the reconstruction of hotel in order to maintain general outlook of the complex and make coordination with the previous plan of the hotel while using main materials , the previous sky line has been also maintained . In the interior design of the hotel , it has been attempted to observe the time domain of building construction . Using furniture more close to the beginning of Pahlavi era and common architectural techniques of that time such as usage of crushed cement in the surface and in situterrazzo were helpful in fulfilling this objective.

Since Jan.2008 , this complex has been given to a contractor in private sector and since 2008 , it has officially commenced its activity as a complete tourism complex including hotel restaurant and cafeteria .

Restaurant of the hotel with the capacity of more than 100 guests is a suitable place for holding your parties and ceremonies .
