Necropolis ( Naqshe-e-Rostam )

Necropolis is a large cemetery that is situated 6 kilometers from Persepolis . There are some monuments related to Elamite , Achaemendi and Sassanid period . The tombs of four Achaemenid kings are situated in this cemetery in a shape of Persian crosses and are carved out of the rock face . Between these four tombs the one that is Darius’ has an inscription .

The Sassanid monuments include the investiture relief of Ardashir , the triumph of Shapoor , the grandee relief of Bahram the second , the two equstrian rliefs of Bahram the second , the investiture of Narseh and the equestrian relief of Hormizd the second .
